Capacity Building Training for Logistics experts in Ashgabat.

The first capacity building training was held in Ashgabat in the framework of the EU funded project “Strengthening Logistics and Transport BIOs in Central Asia” for 4 days (29 January- February 1st). The training provided participants from Turkmenistan countries with an innovative programme for logistics and transport modernization.


The practical oriented training took place in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry building in Ashgabat and has gathered together the high level representatives of Ministry of Auto Transportations in Turkmenistan, Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan as well as private representatives of the sector to discuss the new technologies and approaches in the transport development as well as methods of organizing the activity of the freight forwarding service; consideration of the features of international transport; familiarization with methods of risk management in transportation and the regulatory and legal basis for transportation in Turkmenistan.

 

To date, international transportation is an important link in working with foreign partners. Organizations and entire countries are developing thanks to transport links between states. Means for transportation are chosen on the basis of its effectiveness, the ability to safely and efficiently deliver cargo to the destination. This is the reason the main objective of the training is the formation and expansion of professional competencies of BIOs in Turkmenistan necessary for the performance of professional development in transport and logistics sector. The training - seminar was focused on improving professional skills, expanding the existing understanding of freight transport. Participants learned to conclude contracts for the transport of goods, calculate the profitability of transport, manage the quality of logistics services, and outline ways to reduce logistics costs and etc.

 

Experts in foreign economic activity and logistics, computer and innovation technologies in logistics and transportation and expert in legal/customs regulations have presented the most modern and practical information to the participants.

 

In the framework of the project it is planned to conduct at least three (3) additional training in the regions of Turkmenistan.
